The Artist
Vicki Smith was born and grew up in a small rural town in middle Tennessee. She attended Austin Peay State University as a Mathematics major. She married her husband and began the wonderful journey as a wife and eventually mother. She home-schooled her children until they went to college at which time she went back to school to become a Registered Nurse. She worked as an Oncology, Critical Care and Case Management nurse. She is now back to her first love - a housewife who paints.
A common thread through her life has been painting and creating. She has painted with oil and acrylic but when she found watercolor she feels she found her "home" as far as painting is concerned. For years she would paint and put the paintings in a box under her bed. Practicing using books as well as tutorials on the internet in order to master the desired techniques she feels her style has evolved and is continuing to evolve. Many of her earlier works are renderings from those exercises. The evolution is apparent and exciting.
Vicki and her husband have traveled extensively and she has captured treasured places in some of her paintings. She enjoys the thrill of painting the beauty she sees while looking at God's creation and the places she has the privilege of visiting.
Vicki's heart for her painting is summed up by Proverbs 3:9 which says, "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part (first fruits) of everything you produce" thus the name of this endeavor.
The Print Process
The finished paintings are taken to Chromatics Imaging for Decor and scanned using the Cruse Scanning method. This method is known for its accuracy and precision. The Cruse-Synchron scan process is used worldwide by museums, archives and galleries. The process retains the textures of the piece. The lighting used in the scan is accurate and consistent over the entire scan so the actual color of the piece is captured.
Once the piece is scanned it is printed into a Giclee Print on William Turner Fine Art Paper. This paper is highly archival and will retain the integrity of the print. Limited Edition prints will be printed on William Turner Fine Art Paper 190. When Open Stock prints become available they will be printed on William Turner Fine Art Paper 305.
The print process that has been chosen was done so as to insure that the product you purchase is of the highest quality.
